Hello all!  I want to welcome you all to attend the the June Meeting and Election of the Silicon Valley Engineering Council on June 22nd.  It will be held at Ozen Engineering, 1210 E Arques Ave #207 Sunnyvale, CA 94085.  You can write back to me to rsvp (to make sure we have enough sandwiches) or list yourself as attending here: www.meetup.com/BusinessofEngineering/events/231886657/

We will have discussion of the new SVEC website from Free Code Camp (currently in preview at http://svec.herokuapp.com/).  I would love any volunteers to help it get fully filled out as there are still some blank spots which need stuff transferred from the old website and edited.  We have tried to design it to promote and feature our member organizations, their events and the Hall of Fame.  I would like to get SVEC more involved in helping our member societies get exposure for their events.  I'll hopefully be stepping back into communications director role next year to do this.

We will also have the election of the SVEC officers for 2016-2017.  Please encourage delegates from your society to run for one of the director positions as we would love to have some new faces involved!  Nominations can be made to Ed Aoki (e.aoki@ieee.org).

We will have discussion and a vote on the initiative from the Hall of Fame committee to raise the profile of the SV Engineering Hall of Fame by having their PR firm involved.  Please attend or send a delegate so your society can weigh in on this.

Another odd topic which I mentioned at the last meeting.  I've taken over as a volunteer managing a building in South San Jose/North Morgan Hill called the Coyote Grange.  Photos can be found here.  I'm looking for interested parties to help with its upkeep in exchange for using the hall for engineering events or STEM related activities (or possibly other uses).  The membership of the organization has fallen away and I am trying to see if I can build something new there.  Please write back to me if you are interested and we can explore the possibilities.

Warmest personal regards,
Elise Engelhardt

President (2015-2016), SVEC
